Memoir #102: "Time to Buy a New Flashlight"
I had this one in my sketchbook for the last 6 months, and finally got around to scanning it.

Here are some other doll like creatures that I found in my travels.

This one was hiding out in the American Wing cabinets. I'm not sure if it's open to the public right now. Not sure if I posted this before, but here it is anyway if I didn't.

This is down in the costume institute. I like it because it's approximately as thin as models are supposed to be.

I was having a conversation about board games the other day. I have good memories of this one.
Memoir #100: "Poop and/or Farts"
Like the title? Tarra came up with it.
Also, this marks the first time that the comic code has been completely database driven. While I was at it, I hooked up an RSS feed and threw up a title banner.
NUR NUR NUR
that's the sound of me being a glutton for punishment.

Memoir #99: "Swaddling and You Pt.2"
on the subject of websites, I was over at someones place last night, and realized that the gallery scripts weren't working on her computer! is any one else having this issue? it's supposed to float the image over everything, not just link the image into its own page. if it's just me that it's working for, that would make me very sad.

It's been a while, but I think I'm going to start making these again. Much delayed Memoir #98. It's a two part-er, so I'm now obligated to make another one soon.
Also, I've ripped SpiderMuffinArt apart, and rebuilt it FOR THE NEW MILLENIUM!!

so in my attempt to explore new york, i went to this ridiculous event in Brooklyn that was supposed to somehow involve Kaiju Big Battel; which is to say, wrestlers in godzilla style outfits fighting in a cardboard city (i know you're thinking "awesome", right? ). Anyhow, while they did make an appearance, they didn't have an actual BATTLE per se. I'll have to go to an actual Battle event on another day. While i didn't get any pictures of the Kaiju dudes, here's the stage where they had dancing girls.

Making up for the battleground disappointment, a friend of mine told me about this awesome Metal bar. Apparently I can't escape creepy dolls, because they showed up here, too.

The museum employs one person who gets to hold the title of "armorer".
Currently, that person is named "Hermes".
I think that's pretty cool.
i've unplugged the TV in an effort to reduce distractions. i'm debating on whether i should cover it with something...
walking around in the closed galleries, you notice some strange things. this evening i turned the corner to be confronted by this apparition.

it's some mannequin that someone saw fit to paint to human form, complete with nipples. I wonder if it's an antique somehow. I should just start posting pictures of this stuff as a record.

So Tarra and I took our official promotional band photo. here it is:

that's how bands are supposed to pose, right? or is that gymnasts...
or maybe they should make it a law that you have to pose like that when you get married. i wish i could somehow institute that as a rule or a meme or something. (but it would probably only entertain me).

* Take a picture of yourself right now.
* Don’t change your clothes.
* Don’t fix your hair
* Just take a picture.
* Post that picture with no editing. (Except maybe to get the image size down to something reasonable. Don’t go posting an eight megapixel image.)
* Include these instructions.

oatmeal, who got it from
aubkabob, apparently.
picture REALLY orange. it was all i could do not to play with the colors.

if anyone cares, Tom Campbell is going to be succeeding Philipe de Montebello as the new director of the Metropolitan Museum. somehow i felt obligated to post this, since it was announced tonight, and I saw both of them in the elevator 5 minutes afterward.
anyhow, i'm not sure how old he is, but he looks really young. i think he worked in ESDA before (thats european sculpture and decorative arts)? needless to say, i'd never really spoken to the guy beforehand. i secretly hoped they'd pick Keith Christiansen, because he always seemed kind of cool, but maybe he's too old. He looks like he's probably Montebello's age or so.
ramble ramble ramble that's all i have to say about that.

For years man has dreamed of fusing the bicycle with the common chair... This weekend we played god!
I went to governors island and played Frisbee after the whole bike extravaganza. I'll probably flickr them, or something.
OH! this video also made possible by Tarra, because of her incredible birthday present; Autodesk Maya 2008. It's wicked sweet because it came with all this extra stuff, including some compositing software i can use to stitch together videos. If only i knew the program that well!
Here's to learning over time!

I broke down and finally picked up an xborx. feel free to send me your live tags if you want to combine nerd powers at any point. my id is "Death of Trout".
For some strange reason DeathTrout was already taken. Am I not the only person with a bizzare fish fixation? apparently not and that's just sad.
oh well, worky time!

You are in a mall when the zombies attack. You may bring:
1. One weapon. (Limitless ammunition may be assumed.)
2. One song blasting on the speakers.
3. One famous person (real or fictional) to fight alongside you.
okay, here goes.
1. harpoon gun.
2. Vortex - Megadeth
3. Toph Bei Fong (北方 托芙) from Avatar.

I just feel like having someone around that could sense hordes of zombies would be really useful.
also, i should note that this meme is the reason i now have a "zombie rage" playlist in itunes.
also, now i'm totally going to have to throw something together that illustrates exactly this.

i had this dream that i was in the Back to the Future cartoon, only it was all really dramatic. people were getting kidnapped all the time, and their were like 3 times as many characters as the show ever had.
to be honest, i'd forgotten there was even a show! does anyone remember it? how about the Where's Waldo show?
ah, memories.
